“My name is Celaena Sardothien,” she whispered, “and I will not be afraid.”
'The Assassin's blade' is a novella bind-up which takes place before ‘Throne of Glass’, composed of five essential, meticulously written stories of the adventures of Celaena Sardothien, and her life before Endovier. I’m not the biggest fan of novellas but this was really good, and I would say that it’s a critical addition to this series, making you re-evaluate ‘Throne of Glass’ itself. It was insightful, answered questions about Celaena herself, delves further into her character choices, and weaves into the series plot substantially. Each story reveals something different about Celaena, and I cared even more for her when I finished this. I LOVED it!
“I love you,” he breathed against her mouth. “And from today onward, I want to never be separated from you. Wherever you go, I go. Even if that means going to Hell itself, wherever you are, that’s where I want to be. Forever.”
I gave this book 4 stars -

It's definitely required to read this book before the last two books. I was confused at first when all these "new" characters came into play. But then I realized they were actually old characters from The Assassin's Blade. I think it'll be a long time until I read this book again though. It just broke my heart and I can't stand to see her with anyone except Rowan.

I think i read 'The Assassin's blade' after 'Empire of Storms' - which was a bit late - but i'm glad i read it even though i'm not partial to novellas because it adds more dimension to Celaena's character and the plot overall.
